Pulled Pork Tacos with Smoked Salt, Avocado & Chive

Cook Time: 1.5 – 2 hours (or use pre-cooked pulled pork)

Ingredients:
For the pork:
- Pulled pork – 500g / 1.1 lb (slow-cooked or store-bought)
- Garlic – 2 cloves, minced
- Olive oil – 1 tbsp
- N/UM African Beechwood Smoked Salt – 1½ tsp / 6g
- Black pepper – to taste
- Optional: cumin or smoked paprika – ½ tsp
For assembly:
- Small flour or corn tortillas – 8
- Avocado – 1, sliced
- Red onion – ½, finely chopped
- Fresh chives – 2 tbsp, finely chopped
- Lime wedges – for serving
- Extra N/UM Smoked Salt – for finishing
Instructions
- Prepare pork: If not already cooked, slow-cook pork shoulder with garlic, oil, smoked salt, and optional spices for 1.5–2 hours until pull-apart tender. Shred using forks.
- Warm tortillas: Heat in a dry pan or over flame until soft and slightly charred.
- Assemble tacos: Layer each tortilla with pulled pork, a few slices of avocado, chopped red onion, and chives.
- Finish: Sprinkle a pinch of N/UM Smoked Salt over the top just before serving for added texture and depth.
- Serve: With lime wedges and your favorite hot sauce or yogurt dressing on the side.
Recipe notes:
- For extra richness, add a drizzle of smoked mayo or chimichurri.
- Works well with leftover pork roast or braised brisket.
